The best part of traveling is trying food from different areas. It’s nice to be able to experience something you aren’t normally able to and, we’re here to help you out in that department. Here’s our list of the 5 best places to eat in New Caney (and the area.)

Fish Tales – New Caney

This hometown seafood joint is one of the best in the area. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the amount of food you get for the price is perfect. You can’t have seafood without hushpuppies, and this place has the best recipe! If someone in your group doesn’t like seafood, they also have some grilled steaks and salads they are just as good. Our recommendation is the catfish and the PoBoys.

Italiano’s – Kingwood

This Farm-to-Table, family style restaurant in Kingwood is one of the most popular around town. The warm and intimate ambiance is perfect for a quiet night out, and the traditional style food is impeccable. They even offer NYC-style pies! They’re lunch options are convenient for people on their lunch break or just passing through, and the prices are reasonable.

Chez Nous – Humble

This restaurant is a little more on the pricey side, but definitely worth the dollars. Awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence, this quaint little French/American place never disappoints.

Taste of Texas – Houston

When people think of Texas and food, the first thing that usually comes to mind is steak; a nice, big, juicy steak. Well, Taste of Texas has capitalized on that notion and given the people what they want! The service is wonderful and friendly, and while the price is a little high, the food and experience is worth every penny. Not to mention, you can’t put a price on a really great cut of meat.

Peli Peli – Houston

This Texas steakhouse gives you a new twist on tradition. Considered a fusion restaurant, this exotic and interesting take on Texas food is just what you need to feel adventurous. We suggest trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding. While this place prides its self on its exciting, indigenous flavors, don’t worry, you won’t find hippo or warthog on the menu. They’re not that exotic.
